how did everyone get so good

its just hit me that sum of my stuff isn't cery good and that my family has been lying to me all these years telling me i was great. having studied art all through school and then doing a graphic art diploma and a two year animation course i thought i'd be a bit better at drawing pictures than i am now. i was just wondering how you all got so good, any tips would be much appreciated as i now feel i've wasted five years in college!
